Tucker has some American League games under his belt. He’s played some games in the NHL. He’s ready to go," said Maurice, adding he feels the Jets have the defensive depth to withstand the injuries to Byfuglien and Toby Enstrom. Video: PREGAME | Tucker Poolman “We’ve had a pair in (Dmitry) Kulikov and (Tyler) Myers that come off the bench in the five-six (pair), but clearly they don’t view themselves as that, and neither do we. They’ll get closer to the minutes they want to play. Ben has been in the recreation for a while now, so he’s got some experience. We have two young defencemen, and we don’t talk about (Josh) Morri sey as a young man."The 24-year-old Poolman played three games at the NHL level before he was a signed to the Manitoba Moose on Nov. 2.In seven games with the Moose, Poolman recorded one a sist, and was recalled by the big club Nov. 19, the day after Toby Enstrom sustained his lower-body injury.Since then, Poolman says he’s become more comfortable with his teammates."For a guy like me being in my first year, it’s great to be on the road and hang out with the guys and just get to know guys better," said Poolman. “The better you know guys, the more comfortable you are on the ice I think."I don’t know about other guys, but just knowing your teammates and getting along with them, an inside joke here or there helps me play a little better sometimes."Video: PREGAME | Adam Lowry Poolman was paired with Ben Chiarot at this morning’s line rushes, which looked the same as they did for the entirety of the three-game road trip the Jets just returned from. Blake Wheeler didn’t take part in the skate, but is expected to play.Connor-Scheifele-WheelerEhlers-Little-LaineCopp-Lowry-TanevPerreault-Hendricks-ArmiaMorri sey-TroubaKulikov-MyersChiarot-PoolmanThe Jets are looking to get back in the win column after coming up with one of six po sible points on the three-game trip through Detroit, Florida, and Tampa Bay.The one point came in a 4-3 overtime lo s to the Lightning on Saturday."It was a fast activity. For our team to be succe sful, we need to play fast. I thought we generated a lot of chances. We did some good work in the offensive zone," said Adam Lowry, who had an a sist in the lo s on Saturday. “It’s going to be important that we start to take care of the other two zones and get pucks through the neutral zone."We ran into trouble on this road trip trying to force things in, and turning pucks over, and had to spend a little more time in our D-zone than we would have liked."Video: PREGAME | Josh Morri sey The Canucks also have injury i sues as they come into Winnipeg to wrap up a two-game road trip. With Bo Horvat (broken foot), Brandon Sutter (lower body), and Erik Gudbranson (upper body) already out, Sven Baertschi left Saturday’s 4-2 lo s to the Flames in the second period after suffering a fractured jaw.The Jets won the first meeting between the two teams 4-2 back on Oct. 12, and overall, Winnipeg is 9-0-1 in their last 10 residence games.Still, they aren’t taking the visiting Canucks lightly."They’re mi sing some key pieces out of their line-up. They have a lot of skill. You appear at what (Brock) Boeser has been able to do. He’s got a lot of speed and he’s got a lethal shot. You’ve got the Sedins who are always dangerous," said Lowry."I think they’ve done a really good job just defending as a team and playing hard as a five man unit. Travis Green has come in and done a really good job in getting their group into a system that works for them."ICE CHIPSFor the second time in as many morning skates, goaltender Steve Mason was a full participant in this morning’s se sion as he continues to work his way back from a concu sion.At 1:10 pm CT, the Winnipeg Jets activated Mason from injured reserve, and a signed Eric Comrie to the Manitoba Moose.- Mitchell Clinton, WinnipegJets.comJETS Activity NOTESTonight’s GameThe Winnipeg Jets begin a two-game homestand tonight against the Vancouver Canucks, who are making their first of two visits to Bell MTS Place this season…The Jets lost 4-3 in overtime to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday to end a three-game road trip with a 0- 2-1 record…The Jets play the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday in the other recreation of the homestand before battling the St. Louis Blues in a home-and-home set next weekend.Jets vs. Canucks Notes- Winnipeg has won seven of the last eight games against the Canucks and have points in 10 of the last 12 meetings (8-2-2).- Since the franchise relocated to Winnipeg in 2011, the Jets haven’t lost in regulation to the Canucks at household.- The Jets have held the Canucks to two goals or le s in six of the last seven meetings.Friendly ConfinesThe Jets have won six straight games at Bell MTS Place and are unbeaten in regulation in their last 10 games at property (9-0-1)…The Jets hold down one of the best home records in the NHL this season at 10-2-1, good for a .808 points percentage….Winnipeg’s last lo s in regulation at dwelling was more than a month ago – Oct. 17 vs. CBJ 5-2 L…The Jets are clicking at 35.4% (17-for-48) on the power play at residence, which is second best in the NHL…Winnipeg is 8-for-15 (53.3%) on the power play in their last three household games and have scored three power play goals in back-to-back residence games.Overtime WoesThe Jets fell to 0-5 in overtime game after Saturday’s lo s to the Lightning…Dating back to last season, the Jets are 1-9 in their last 10 games decided in overtime and 4-11 overall…The four overtime wins are the second fewest in the NHL during the past two seasons.Against the PacificWinnipeg is 7-3-0 against the Pacific Division this season, with all three lo ses coming on the road…The Jets were 7-13-1 against the Pacific last season, which marked their first losing record against the Pacific since realignment for the 2013-14 season.Middling DecemberAfter posting the second-best record in the NHL in November with a 9-3-2 mark, the Jets have started December with a 2-2-1 mark, which is tied for 13th in the NHL…During the past three seasons, the Jets have hovered around .500 in December with a combined record of 14-15-2 since 2015…Winnipeg’s best record in December was 10-3-1 during the 2011-12 season.Faceoff Prowe sJets have climbed to fifth in the NHL with a 52.5% faceoff winning percentage for the season…During the past seven games, the Jets have won 57.9% (252-of-435) of their draws…The Jets have won more than 50% of the faceoffs in each of their past seven games.Rookie ContributionKyle Connor, who has retained his rookie status for this season, scored his 10th goal of the season on Saturday against Tampa Bay…The Jets are one of eight teams in the NHL with four players that have scored at least 10 goals this season…Connor is tied for fourth in NHL rookie goal scoring, but is tied for second with .41 goals per video game…He’s fifth among NHL rookies and second among NHL rookie forwards with an average of 17:55 time on ice per sport.Captain Goes StreakingJets captain Blake Wheeler had an a sist on Saturday to extend his point streak to five games (2G, 8A)…It’s his longest point streak of the season…Wheeler also has 13 points (3G, 10A) in his last seven games…He’s tied for the NHL lead with 30 a sists.Lots of DrawsMark Scheifele has taken 639 faceoffs this season, which is the fifth most in the NHL…He’s won 332 draws, which is seventh most in the NHL this season, while he’s lost 307 faceoffs, which is fifth most in the league…During his last seven games, Scheifele is 99-for-155 (63.9%) in the faceoff circle.Jets vs Dale Hawerchuk Jersey .
